Hydromatic S6 Submersible Sewage Pump – 30 HP (22 kW), 6 Inch Flanged

This is an imported Hydromatic submersible sewage pump from the S6 series, built by Hydromatic Pumps of Ashland, Ohio and assembled in the USA. It has a 30 HP (approx. 22 kW) motor rated 460 V, 3 phase, 60 Hz, 1750 RPM, a 10.5 inch impeller and a heavy cast iron volute with a 6 inch flanged discharge. It is supplied by Standard Machinery in Imported, Refurbished & Tested condition.

Hydromatic solids-handling pumps are widely used in municipal lift stations and wastewater plants. The slower motor speed and large impeller of this unit suit high-volume transfer of raw sewage and wastewater at moderate head, with less wear than high-speed pumps when handling solids and grit.

Voltage & Power Note

The nameplate rates this pump 460 V, 60 Hz. It is a direct match for 440–460 V, 60 Hz supplies used in the USA, on ships and in several export markets.

On an Indian 415 V, 50 Hz supply, the pump runs at about 1440–1460 RPM, roughly 17% slower than its 60 Hz speed, with correspondingly lower head and flow. Running current should be checked on test. For full 60 Hz performance, use a VFD set to 60 Hz output. A 30 HP motor needs a soft starter, star-delta starter or VFD, with overload, phase-failure and earth protection.

The nameplate states that motor protection must be provided by the installer. Connect the pump's thermal and seal protection (if fitted) to a suitable relay in the control panel.
