Flygt 2201 MT Submersible Dewatering Pump – 50 HP (37 kW), 8 Inch Outlet
This is an imported Flygt 2201 MT submersible dewatering pump with a 37 kW (50 HP) motor and a large 8 inch (200 mm) flanged outlet. The MT (medium head) version of the Flygt 2201 is built to move large volumes of water at medium head, and is rated here for up to 45 m head. It is supplied by Standard Machinery in Imported, Refurbished & Tested condition.
The Flygt 2201 is one of the best-known heavy-duty dewatering pumps for mining, quarrying, tunnelling and construction. It handles water containing sand, silt, clay and other abrasives. The 8 inch outlet makes this unit a strong choice where high flow matters more than very high head, such as large excavation pits, flooded areas and quarry sumps.

Voltage & Power Note
This pump is rated 440 V, 3 phase, 37 kW (50 HP), running at 2945 RPM, which is the speed of a 50 Hz motor. Indian 415 V supply is within about 6% of the 440 V rating. Running current should be checked on test.
A 37 kW motor needs a soft starter or suitable reduced-voltage starter, correctly sized cable, and protection against overload, phase failure and earth fault.
Rotation check: The top cover carries a "START REACTION" arrow. When the pump is started, it kicks in the direction of this arrow if the rotation is correct. If it kicks the other way, swap any two phases.
Safety Note
- This is a refurbished unit; it is not offered as explosion-proof and must not be used in hazardous or explosive atmospheres
- Pump water only, including water with sand, silt and abrasives; not for oil, fuel, solvents or flammable liquids
- Lift and lower the pump only by its lifting eyes using rated lifting gear, never by the power cable
- Hold the pump or keep clear when starting, as it reacts against the start torque
- Always connect the earth conductor before use
Maintenance Tips
- Check the oil in the seal chamber at regular intervals; water in the oil indicates seal wear
- Inspect the impeller and wear parts if flow or head drops, and adjust or replace as needed
- Keep the strainer clear of mud and debris
- Check motor insulation resistance before installation
- Inspect the power cable for cuts and damage before every use
- After pumping abrasive water, flush the pump with clean water where possible
