Setting Up the Pump in 5 Steps
- 1. Check the supply: 3 phase, 380–440 V, with a suitable starter, overload relay, phase-failure relay and earth connection
- 2. Connect the outlet: Screw a hose tail or pipe nipple into the socket, using thread sealant, and clamp the hose
- 3. Check rotation: Briefly start the pump out of the water and confirm correct rotation; swap two phases if needed
- 4. Lower the pump: Use a chain or rope on the lifting bail, never the power cable; keep it within 20 m depth
- 5. Support the hose: Tie the discharge hose so its weight does not hang on the outlet, then start pumping

Voltage & Power Note
The pump runs on 3 phase, 380–440 V. Flygt's published data for the 2125.181 is for 60 Hz. On an Indian 415 V, 50 Hz supply, it runs about 17% slower; by the pump affinity laws, maximum head drops to roughly 52 m and maximum flow to roughly 60,000 LPH. For full rated output, run it through a VFD set to 60 Hz. Keep starts within 15 per hour.
Safety Note
- This refurbished unit is not offered as explosion-proof and must not be used in hazardous areas
- For water, including water with sand, silt and abrasives; not for oil, fuel, solvents or flammable liquids
- Maximum immersion depth 20 m; maximum liquid temperature 40 °C
- Lift only by the lifting bail; never by the cable or hose
- Always connect the earth conductor
Maintenance Tips
- Check the seal chamber oil regularly; water in the oil means seal wear
- If head or flow drops, inspect the impellers and wear parts
- Clean the strainer after working in muddy water
- Check the elbow bolts, gasket and socket thread for leaks
- Test motor insulation resistance before each new installation
- Flush with clean water after pumping abrasive water
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this pump ready to use?
Yes. It comes with the discharge elbow and a threaded socket coupling already fitted. You only need a hose tail or pipe, a 3 phase supply with a suitable starter, and a lifting chain or rope.
What is the difference between this and other Flygt 2125.181 units you sell?
The pump and its performance are the same. The difference is in the outlet fittings: this set includes both the elbow and a threaded socket. We also supply units with a bare discharge port or with an elbow only.
What head and flow does it give?
Up to 75 m head and up to 72,000 LPH. These two maximums occur at different points on the pump curve; actual output depends on your lift height and hose length.
Can I run it on Indian 50 Hz supply?
Yes, on 3 phase. It runs about 17% slower on 50 Hz. Use a VFD set to 60 Hz output for full performance.
Can it handle muddy or sandy water?
Yes. It is a dewatering pump for water carrying sand, silt and abrasives. It is not for oil or flammable liquids.
Do you ship outside India?
Yes. Standard Machinery exports to Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Contact us for export packing and shipping details.
